There are 33 products listed across the gear pages. Every link to one of them goes to Amazon with an affiliate tag attached. If you buy something after following that link, AquaReefBasin receives a small commission from Amazon. You pay exactly what you would have paid anyway.

Product links are marked as sponsored and open in a new tab, so it is always visible when you are leaving this site for a retailer.

What it does not change

• The order of operations on every troubleshooting page. Testing and a water change come first. A product is what you consider after maintenance has been ruled out, and on many pages that point is never reached.
• What gets written about a product. Descriptions come from the retailer listing, and the drawbacks section on every product card is not decoration.
• Which category a product belongs to. A filtration resin is filtration media even when it is listed elsewhere; cartridges are consumables rather than filters; a medication is a medication and sits in its own group.
• The refusal to recommend a medication for anything. No commission arrangement changes the fact that fish health is veterinary work.

What is not on this site

No prices, because they change and a stale figure is worse than none. No ratings, because a rating describes a listing rather than a product. No claim of independent bench testing, because none was done. And no dosing figures for any product, including ordinary water conditioners — those come from the label.
